CELEBRATE SOUND Dont Walk in Silence® is
Sertomas national awareness-raising and fundraising
event created to help members, clubs and national
affiliates to promote hearing health in our |
CELEBRATE
SOUND is a nationally-sponsored fund-raiser walk to
promote hearing health. On October 19, 2019 the
Sertoma Club of Springfield hosted its sixth annual
CELEBRATE SOUND walk at Springfield's
Washington Park. Half of the net proceeds
from the walk will be used by the Sertoma Club of
Springfield for a special project in the community
to assist those with hearing loss. The other
half of the proceeds will help fund Sertoma's
national scholarship program for
hearing-impaired students. There was not a
walk held in 2020 because of the pandemic and health
concerns. We are certainly looking forward to the 2021
walk. Our previous walks supported the purchase of
hearing assistance technology for the Lincoln Library,
Springfield Muni Opera, Legacy Theatre, the
Old State Capitol, the Illinois State Museum, and
Springfield School District 186. Walkers and
sponsors are always welcome. |
