Sister Sertoma Club of San Pedro de
las Colonias, Coahuila, Mexico
David Groesch, clinical director of
Central Illinois Hearing was famous in San Pedro, Coahuila Mexico
in November of 2018, when
he went there with our Springfield Sertoma Club to perform
hearing examinations. Groesch's visit to offer free hearing
testing was promoted
in San Pedro through the internet, megaphones on top of cars for
blasting announcement, and billboards in front of supermarkets
with Groesch's name on them. Groesch performed 61
examinations over four days with the coordination of the San
Pedro Sertoma Club.
With a mission to improve people's quality of life through
better hearing health, Springfield Sertoma Club has been a sister
club to San Pedro Sertoma since 1996.
In 2019 61 hearing aids were sent to those individuals.
Boys &
Girls Club
The Boys and Girls Club of Central Illinois continues to
thrive under the leadership of William Legge a previous speaker
at a recent Sertoma membership meeting.
The Boys and Girls Club fills the gap between school and home
where they provide a positive environment to aid in academic
success,
character building and a healthy lifestyle to kids between K and
12. They help build supportive relationships with peers and
caring adults.
Consider supporting or volunteering to help the Boys and Girls
Club. The Sertoma Club has supported the Boys and Girls in
several projects
including: The Great Futures Gala Event, Christmas Party (pictured above-2019), and the
Boys and Girls Camp.
